“Country girl” from Victoria wins $20 million

A Drouin self-confessed “country girl” is already working hard for the day, after learning she won $20 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.

The Gippsland winner held the only one-win entry Division nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1387, drawn last night on Tuesday, September 19, 2020, and took home a $20 million payout for the entire division.

The winner is planning on enjoying the windfall with her family, buying a new car and visiting the local pub to celebrate once the restrictions are lifted.

For the Oz Lotto draw 1387, the winning numbers were: 18, 44, 31, 41, 2, 10, 36 and the supplies were 5 and 23.

“I marked the numbers with my birthday and things like that. I chose them so long ago now I don’t know why I chose them,” she said.

“I play every week, and lately, I haven’t had much luck. I’m always joking with the guy in the store that I never win anything.”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning marked System 8 entry at Drouin Lotto & Cards in Drouin.

“I can’t believe it! It’s just come right out of the blue! It’s the first time we’ve sold division one, so we are very excited!” Drouin Lotto & Cards owner Raj Joshi exclaimed.

“My heart is pounding!” she exclaimed. “Oh my goodness! Thank you so so much!

“We’ve been playing for a long time. I always play the same numbers. I’ve been playing them for about 20 years I’d say.

“Wow! I’m in shock. I can’t believe it!”

“I don’t know what I’d do with myself if I retired! I’m a country girl through and through!” she laughed.

“I’ve been working for the past 30 years, and I don’t think I could give it up that easily. I’m at work at the moment. I’ve got things to do! I’ll share it with my family. They are about to become a very lucky bunch.

“I definitely need a new car, so I’ll start with that.”

“Restrictions lift at midnight tonight, so it’s good timing for a celebration tomorrow!” she said. “I’m looking forward to a meal at the pub to celebrate.”
