‘It is so sad’: 7yo boy dies after being pulled from water hole

A boy died in a hospital after he was found unconscious on Sunday afternoon at the bottom of a common swimming spot in the Blue Mountains.

The parents of the seven-year-old boy called emergency services at about 2.20pm after he was declared missing in the Blue Mountains National Park at Glenbrook for almost 30 minutes.

At 2.45pm, he was rescued from the water by the family at the Jellybean Pool and CPR was carried out by officers from the Blue Mountains Police Area Command, the Dog Unit and Rescue Squad.

He was then rushed to a critical condition at Nepean Hospital, but died shortly after arriving. A report will be written for the coroner, NSW Police said.
