A mother from Queensland has become the newest millionaire in Australia, scooping the entire $40 million Powerball jackpot overnight.
The emotional Qld woman held the nation’s only division one winning entry.
Remarkably, after she also won division two 19 times, the women’s award was raised to a staggering $40,532,533.90!
The lucky woman from Taringa told the Lott officials that she was waiting on the phone with the impression that she was going to be called with the news that Powerball had won.
“My heart is about to beat through my chest,” she cried when The Lott called her to break the life-changing news last night.
“You have no idea what this means to me… It’s a dream come true. I am feeling so breathless! I think I might faint or throw up!
“You wouldn’t believe it, but this morning I woke up with a weird feeling that I was going to win Powerball,” the woman continued.
“I made sure I kept my phone on charge and that I would be ready to answer your phone call… I can’t believe this is happening!”
Asked about how she intended to spend her reward, she said it could not have come at a better time.
“It’s been such a tough time. This is a huge relief,” she admitted.
“I am going to get a house and I want to share it with my family… I will also help some of my friends that have done so much for me.
“I am going to retire too and then I will spend my time travelling around Australia, instead of working!”
