In a bid to improve the COVID-hit industries, every adult in NSW is set to receive $100 in vouchers to spend at hospitality and entertainment venues.
The vouchers will be divided into four and will be worth $25 each – two will be allocated for venues for hospitality and the other two will be designated for venues such as galleries, cinemas, amusement parks and theatres.
It’s set to cost the state government $500 million, The Australian told NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet’s office.
The framework, referred to as Out & About, is scheduled to be introduced initially next month in Sydney’s CBD before being extended next year to other locations.
“We want to encourage people to shop and spend with businesses multiple times, to get out and about and support their local community safely,” Perrottet said.
